Peter Cohan from Babson College identified seven principles that, when taken together, drive value for shareholders, customers, employees and the community as a whole. We have borrowed from his good work in setting out our corporate principles, and we work hard to stay on the pathways they illuminate.
1. Value Human Relationships: We treat our people with respect so that they can reach their full potential and thereby help ECC reach its full potential.
2. Foster Teamwork: We work hard to foster an environment where everyone, from board directors to manufacturing technicians work together to move ECC forward. In other words, we are proud to say that we are a silo-free zone!
3. Experiment Frugally: We are real innovators in the composites industry, but in innovating products, processes and positioning, we expend resources intelligently and frugally. Some of our best ideas have come accidently, and we have been quick to harness them to create value.
4. Fulfill Commitments: We say what we intend to do, and then we do what we said we would do. No matter how difficult or inconvenient, we always live up to our word to customers, employees, shareholders and vendors.
5. Do Not Tolerate Complacency: We know what we don't know, and we know that we are not the only competitor in our space. You will find no arrogance at ECC - we work hard to weed it out.
6. Win Through Multiple Means: Our stool - some would call it our market strategy - has six legs, and we are careful to stay diversified across markets, products, services and channels. We believe that we will secure and maintain market leadership with this approach.
7. Give to Our Community: The State of Wisconsin and the City of Wisconsin Rapids have been good to us, and we value the opportunity that they have provided to us. We also value the community partners -- banks, colleges, suppliers, and vendors -- that help to drive our success. We work hard to give back to our community by concentrating as much of our growth within the state as our markets will allow and by sponsoring the good work of many of our neighbors.
